*We recommend having an installer install this film on your windshield. Installation is difficult and can take time and patience.

Vehicle or equipment windshields, racecar lexan, and other leading optic surfaces can get pitted or damaged over time. You can protect the glass or lexan windscreen with our 36" x 72" (3 ft x 6 ft) sheet that is designed to protect the surface with an invisible layer of protection. It is optically clear, 5.5 mils thick, and scratch-resistant. It provides excellent protection from pitting, nicking, chipping, or staining caused by normal wear or vandalism. Once applied correctly and cured, you won't even notice its there.

This film is adhesive-backed and includes some installation tools. Installation onto flat surfaces is easy for the DIY'er. Applying to windshield requires additional skilled labor to mold around a curved surface. Whether you install it yourself, or have a professional installer do it for you, we'll provide you with thorough installation instructions.

Follow directions

We thought our windshield was flat enough to install without stretching it first. We thought we could do it while putting it on. The product is great. I bought 2 using the first one for practice.

A little tricky, use extra to practice first

Included tools were nice, you will need a much bigger sprayer though. It will eventually dry clear over a few days in warm weather, polarized sunglasses do seem to show rainbow colors in certain light. A few tips I noted when installing. Wash your whole car thoroughly and keep it wet, and wet down the whole installation area, preferably indoors in a garage. When test fitting it might be best not to stick the film around the top and bottom at first, carefully shrink the top and bottom with heat gun a foot or 2 away or steamer until it is close to the shape of the windshield and then squeegee to see how close you are and then gently warm the film in larger areas until fit is perfect. When installing use *firm* pressure on the squeegee to push slip solution and air out starting from center of windshield to sides and then top and bottom last. You can still shrink a little if need be. If there are residual water bubbles less than 3/8 inch in diameter don't panic, they will probably dissipate in a few days. I panicked and tried to get them out and contaminated the edges with dust particles, when they ended up disappearing in a few days on their own anyway. Overall I'm pretty happy with the product, wish I had enough material to try again because the 2nd try it probably would be perfect. It is clear and there is some minor waviness in the material, but it is livable. I will buy again if this lasts and does it's job.

Difficult to install or difficult product?

Followed directions, but was still unable to install the film to my Porsche windshield. This is my 2nd time ordering this film and giving it a go, but I just wasn’t happy with the results. I’d recommend a different material that could shrink much easier. Overall, I wouldn’t use this product. I’d go with a different brand.

Windshield Guard Fiasco

1997, Buick,Le Sabre I watched videos, and read the instruction before attempting. I laid it one well wetted and squeezed out the soapy alcohol water from the center out, but the left and right edges curved too much to get the laminate to adhere. I tried heating it and heating it, but there was too much material. It needed to shrink, but it wouldn't. the only option that I could come up with was to try cutting slits in the edge, which didn't help either. In trying to cut slits, the knife actually scratched the glass and I ended up with a crack. This was a brand new windshield and now I have a 4" crack off of the passengers edge. I ended up ripping it off and chucking it out.
